web.com Hosting has built its reputation on reliability, capacity, courtesy and technical know-how. There are thousands of hosts on the Web, but there’s only one web.com.
web.com hosting specializes in business class web hosting, including ecommerce, quality security and a good control panel. The company rationalizes their relatively higher cost is due to the fact that they are a higher quality company. They claim to be great for e-commerce, offering good security and Miva e-commerce options. While some of these claims are true, our research found that their poor customer service records more than wipes out any plusses web.com has to offer.
web.com is a wonderful experience because of their fast customer service, and the price planning. web.com go out of their way to please customers. I am very happy with the service that web.com give and the servers are very fast and dependable. I highly recommend web.com.
Dreadful awful service, employs offshore customer service people who barely speak english, cannot understand or communicate. Their mail service is a joke, it simply does not function after more than a year of complaints.
Look elsewhere for a host, these people are the worst.
I was an Interland customer before it got bought out by web.com. web.com service is so horrible I am trying to move all of my hosting accounts away from them. Their latest scam: if you have a SQL database, you cannot back it up yourself–you must pay THEM $149 to do a backup–which they claim they will put on a CD and SNAIL MAIL to you! God forbid you have anything like updates or maintenance you need to do on your SQL-driven shopping cart. They hold your data hostage and their tech support people are arrogant, ignorant, snide and breathtakingly rude. Ifyou need a good hosting company, go to Verio. Avoid web.com like you’d run from Aids or herpes.
I’d been with web.com since 2005-2006. Their site builder functions are buggy and difficult to work with. I’ve also had issues with their email service. And, like everyone else, customer service a nightmare to deal with. I almost always get someone with a heavy accent and can’t understand half of what they say. They usually offer no resolutions. When they say they’ve resolved something, they usually haven’t.
This year I started moving my sites to another hosting service. I only have one left with web.com. There are now some security issues that are forcing me to completely close down my web.com account. I dread rebuilding my only remaining site through another host but it’s something I’m going to have to do.
